- How Can I request a certain digest to be sent
to me?
Assuming you are subscribed to the list, send the following
command to: majordomo@photo.cis.to
'get nikon-digest v02.n124' , you can substitute 124 for
any volume 3 digest number want.
- I posted to the list and it never got through

Make sure you have send your post as "text" not
as HTML. Make sure you have used the email address
you subscribed with to post. Do not use a subject such as
"Re: Nikon-digest#....". use an appropriate subject.
Finally, make sure you do not post to Nikon-digest, but
to 'Nikon@photo.cis.to'
.
- Is this an open list?
No. This is a "closed" list. This means only subscribers
can post. This measure was taken to avoid spam.
Please remember that your email is safe here, so there is
no need to use a web based email address unless you have
to.
- What address to I post my messages to?
All posts should be directed to nikon@photo.cis.to
after you have subscribed.
- I am going on vacation. Can I temporarily
stop receiving posts without unsubscribing?
Yes. Just send the following command to nikon-request@photo.cis.to
'NOMAIL' this command will stop the server from sending
you posts. To reactivate your account and to start receiving
posts, send the 'MAIL' command to the same address. make
sure you are sending these commands from the address you
have subscribed with.
- Who sponsors this site and list?
I do. I pay the bills. No banners, no ads, no unsolicited
email.
- What subjects are covered?
Anything Nikon related. 3rd party lenses are included. The
topics can be as broad as you like assuming they revolve
around Nikon and photography with Nikon and humans with
Nikon :-). You are encouraged to discuss technical questions
as well as creative questions, However, please use the appropriate
subject title so the subscribers can decide if they are
interested or not in that particular topic. If you had a
bad day, or a good one, feel free to share it with us. Nikonians
are known to be a special breed, and will undoubtedly help.
Flames are not allowed. If you want to abuse each other,
please do it by email. The rest of us are not interested.
- Please do not insult other camera brands
There is no need to insult other camera brands or people
that use them.
- How do I title my Subject?
Please use a subject title that reflects your message. Try
to make it easy for someone on the list to distinguish what
type of message you are sending. Messages with titles of
the type "Re: Nikon-digest" will bounce.
- How many lists are offered here?
1 list, divided into 2 versions. The Nikon list is the immediate
version (live) of the Nikon-digest.
- How do I use the Live chat?
In order to use it, you must have Java enabled. Next click
on the button. You will be taken to an
input page. Type in your name or handle. Click on chat.
You must not close that new page from which you typed your
name with as this will disable the chat. In case of a problem,
you must exit your browser and re-open it before you can
log back on.
- This is an interactive List
This means that you the subscriber makes up the "rules".
Your suggestions make up the building block of this list.
The majority wins. As we flow along, there will be many
topics brought up by the list administrator regarding the
future of the list. You will be supplied with instructions
on how to participate.
