The Nikon mailing list was pioneered by Andrew Donkin in New Zealand. The list's official birthday is on the 1st of July 1994, although it was operating a few months earlier without it being completely covered by statistics and the like.

This list provided many Nikon users the ability to communicate with their counterparts and fellow Nikon users throughout the world.

After so many years of service, Andrew, who holds a degree in Computer Science and is an IT leader at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand, has passed on the maintenance of the list to me. It is a great honor for me to take on this task and serve you. I call this new list "the Next generation". I will do my best to continue his pioneering work and to boldly go, where no Nikonian has gone before.
